We have a story of a boy who had been looking for one opportunity, and when it came in front of him, he grabbed it with full power. He first played in Uttarakhand Veenu Mankad trophy. He impressed everyone and was announced captain for the “Days under 19”. He was the highest run-scorer for the team in under-19. He scored a triple hundred against Bihar and got a place in the senior Ranji team for the knockout against Vidharbha. Recently Sudha shared his interesting story in an interview:

“I was just short to my double hundred at the stumps. I did not sleep overnight. The next morning Coach came to me and said double century is easy, but if you convert it into a triple, then you could get bigger chances. These words made me positive and I went to the ground with this mindset. I was striking well and knew today is my day.”

Sudha scored 339 runs. He continued this form in Ranji Trophy and smashed 91 runs on debut against Vidharbha. Later on, he went on to play for India under 19 against South Africa.

“The last year was like a dream for me,” he said. “We were sharing the dressing room with Rahul Dravid. Wearing India dress is every cricketer’s dream. I find myself lucky to get these things at a young age. Sudha says I don’t look into the past and think about the future more. As cricketer, we have to practice hard and show at the ground. You cannot say if and but after you fail. I have been learning and will try to improve. Getting drop from the Ranji Trophy side was a setback, but these things are not in any cricketers hand. We have a bat, and we know we have to smash it. “

Presently Sudha is trapped at his cricket academy after lockdown called off by the Prime Minister. He is still practising on his fitness and mental strength.
