Vijay Hazare: To qualify, Uttarakhand needs big wins

Dehradun: Rain has become a villain in the Plate group matches of Vijay Hazare Trophy in Dehradun. Fans of Uttarakhand cricket team are sad, the home team has only played one complete game. Until now, 8 matches are called off due to rain and created confusion in the point standings. Last year Uttarakhand played really good cricket and that has increased the expectation of fans. Uttarakhand is in third place in the points table. They have 5 matches left and have to win almost all of them for qualifying. These wins must be big and they also have to rely on other team’s results. Uttarakhand won one match against Assam by 7 wickets. It’s been more than a week that players are out of the field.

Uttarakhand team has a brilliant lineup. Unmukt Chand has fired in the first match scoring 80 runs. Fans are waiting for Karanveer Kaushal to show his dangerous batting. Tanmay seems to be in good touch but he needs to convert his small score to a bigger one. Saurabh Rawat has made his identity as Mr. Dependable. He has started his season well, scoring 45 runs in just 20 balls smashing 6 sixes. Avnish Sudha is in good touch as seen in the encounter against Pondicherry.

Dikshanshu Negi needs to show his class in batting also which will help the team in upcoming matches. Negi took three important wickets against Assam. It was Negi who broke the opening stand of opposition team otherwise Assam would have given a massive target to the Uttarakhand team. The fast bowling department has not given a critical exam on the field yet, they must be ready for it. Last season the team was out from the qualifying list because of one defeat to Bihar and this time they want to qualify at any cost.
